BASC has launched the UK’s first fully online Deer Stalking Certificate Level 1 (DSC1) theory course, unveiled at The Stalking Show on 11-12 April and recognised by Lantra, making it the first DSC1 training delivery to achieve that status.

Developed by BASC deer experts, the course offers new and experienced stalkers a flexible route to their DSC1 qualification without the need for in-person theory sessions. Candidates still complete a practical shooting test, delivered as a pre-booked session rather than a full day’s commitment.

BASC’s executive director of shooting and operations, Gareth Dockerty, said the course delivers “the most affordable, accessible and trusted route into DSC1, built for anyone, any time, anywhere”.

The DSC1 is designed for those who have taken up stalking and are seeking further advice and guidance.
