In this video, Paul Austin heads to Orion Firearms Training in Wales on a mission to answer the question: How far can you shoot a .22LR?
We’ve searched the industry to secure the best rifle and the best scope for .22LR long-range shooting, and have visited ELEY for batch testing to ensure we also have the best 22LR long range ammo that will help us stretch the set-up as far as we can.
Paul starts his .22 long range shooting test by checking zero and getting his eye in on the shoter 50-100m ranges, before we head up into the hills to really test its legs! This entire set-up is an off-the-shelf job – so, if you want to get into long range shooting with a .22LR rifle, you can! There’s no need for custom-built masterpieces (unless you desperately want one!) when you can get the best of the best, straight off the shelf. We’ve topped the Tikka T1X UPR rifle with a Schmidt & Bender 5-25×56 PM II and loaded it with ELEY Tenex… so, let’s see what it can do!
